How to Groom a Chinese Shar-Pei
Chinese Shar-Peis are very loyal, friendly dogs. They have a lovable bunched up face, similar to a bulldog. They become very attached to and protective of their family, but also behave well around most strangers. These dogs have a very low maintenance grooming regimen. They need a once monthly general grooming and a full grooming once every 8 to 12 weeks.

Tips & Warnings
Chinese Shar-Peis are usually alright around cats and children if you introduce them to the household while still young.
Waterless shampoos can help keep water out of your dog's ears. Bathe the rest of the dog's body normally but use the shampoo on the head.
Massaging your dog by hand before and/or after the bath may help loosen more shed hair.
Baby powder can reduce the risk of the dog's skin becoming irritated due to moisture.
Keep your Chinese Shar-Peis on a leash when in public to avoid confrontations with other dogs.
Chinese Shar-Peis have a life expectancy of up to 10 years.
Some Chinese Shar-Peis suffer from kidney failure. Early signs of this condition include fevers of unknown origin and swollen hocks.
Some Shar-Peis suffer from a hereditary skin condition.
