California is a state that is not only famous for its movies, but also its wine. California wine made the world sit up and take notice at a blind taste testing in France in 1976, when the top three choices from ten wines, both Californian and French, were from California. Enjoy the varied wines of California and judge for yourself. Read this eHow to learn more about enjoying the vineyards in California.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Explore SteveO's informative site about the California vineyards (see Resources below). He breaks down the state by wine regions, provides helpful links, list California-wide events, gives links to wine country tours and more. The best feature is the detailed map of the state which not only gives you the names of the vineyards and where they are located, but a link to the individual vineyards as well.

  2. Step 2

Go to the Wineries of California website (see Resources below). It's a great resource for information about the wineries in California. It lists the different wineries, provides interesting information and has a whole-state map showing the wineries' locations. This map helps you plan your route while you visiting the vineyards in California.

  3. Step 3

Check out the packages offered by the Biltmore Hotel which combines a stay at the hotel with tours of Northern California vineyards (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Combine a stay at the Masterpiece Hotel with tours of the South Coast vineyards (see Resources below). There are over 80 vineyards in the region, which gives you a lot to choose from as well as a stay in a hotel on the beach.

  5. Step 5

Tour Napa Valley vineyards with Napa Valley Tours (see Resources below). You can ride a train from vineyard to vineyard, while dining on sumptuous food and wine. A winning combination.

  6. Step 6

Choose the route you wish to take and choose the vineyards you wish to visit. There are literally hundreds to choose from, so you can explore the state of California at your own rate. Have fun!
