Step 1
Tour picturesque Franklin just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. The Carnton Plantation is well known as a haunted house. They offer a guided tour through the house and nearby cemetery in search of ghosts. There's also a Franklin on Foot tour that does not allow anyone under 14 to attend, although they offer a family-friendly tour during the Halloween season. Tour the spooky Carter House while in Franklin. There is said to be poltergeist activity at this house, and many people have seen several different restless spirits here.

Step 2
Travel to nearby Nashville and take one of the Nashville Ghost Tours. This tour encompasses several of the town's most noted haunted spots like the Hermitage Hotel, Printer's Alley and the state capitol. Book a room at the Hermitage Hotel, where guests have seen a woman in antebellum dress floating through the lobby. Just outside of Nashville is the former home of President Andrew Jackson, which is reportedly haunted as well.

Step 3
Spend the weekend in Memphis for a spooky good time. Elvis Presley's former home, Graceland, is reportedly still haunted by The King. Go downtown to the Orpheum Theater at 203 South Main Street, said to be one of the most haunted places in Memphis. The Orpheum is haunted by the ghost of a little girl named Mary, who was run over by a car, as well as 6 or more other restless spirits.

Step 4
Take time to visit Adams, Tennessee and experience the infamous Bell Witch. There one can see the cabin on the Bell family property, John Bell's grave and Kate Batts' homesite, the woman who was believed to be the one who cursed the Bell family.

on 8/6/2009 My husband and I are avid ghost tour goers so we went on the Franklin tour and the Nashville tour. The Nashville Ghost Tour was fantastic! The haunted history of Nashville was very interesting and I recognized my tour guide from a country music video. He said he was a professional actor and I could tell because his performance of the stories was stellar. On Saturday we traveled to Franklin (a long haul from our suite in downtown Nashville). It was very hard to find and we got lost several times. No one answered the phone when I called for help with directions. We finally made it and I must say that it was not worth the trip or the money. The stories were interesting enough, but the presentation was very blah and boring. It could be because our expectations were so high from going on the Nashville ghost walk or because we had to drive so far. I'm not sure. I wouldn't recomm...
