How to Make a Successful Sales Pitch

The first rule in business is to make a profit. In business, you never want to be in a position where you have to say "we can't afford it." The way "we can't afford it" is communicated determines the outcome of any conversation. In business, customer satisfaction can be attained if people know how to communicate effectively.

      Communicate honestly and openly about money. Money is the most difficult subject to discuss. It does no one any good to be afraid to talk about it.

      Develop a relationship with your employees that involves open communication about the budget of your business. Get everyone on the same page positively-do not use lack of money as a threat or weapon to your employees.

      Decide if "we can't afford it" is really true. Sometimes people say one thing and mean another.

      Analyze the person who says, "We can't afford it." Decide if they have another agenda.

      Avert the discussion of money and find out exactly why you cannot purchase, or do what it is you wanted to.

      Guide the person who says, "We can't afford it" into a place where they are ok with "no." "No" is not an easy thing to say to anyone.

      Determine when you can afford to purchase what you want or go where you need to go. Money comes and goes.
