How to Make Herbal Bath Bags
Herbal bath bags are little bags, usually made of muslin or cheesecloth containing various herbs. They are designed to be dropped into a warm bath and swirled around to release the aromas and benefits of the herbs. If you want to make your own herbal bath bags, there are some things to keep in mind.

1
Find a piece of muslin about 12 by 4 inches. The exact dimensions aren't important, so don't stress about measuring perfectly.
-
2
Fold the bag in half. If you're using printed muslin, fold it so the pattern is on the inside.
-
-
3
Sew the bag closed on two sides. You should have one side open and the bag should be inside out.
-
4
Turn the bag right side out.
-
5
Choose various herbs for your herbal bags depending on what you want and your personal preferences. Feel free to mix, match and experiment to find what works for you. Relaxing herbs include chamomile, lavender, marjoram, rose petals. Energizing or stimulating herbs include citrus-based herbs, mints, sage and basil. You can also add oatmeal to the bag as a skin soother.
-
6
Grind the chosen herbs in a blender or with a mortar and pedestal.
-
7
Add the herbs to your bag and tie the bag closed with a ribbon. Make a loop with the ribbon or tie one end to your water facet so when the bath is filling, the water can run through the bag. You can also add the bag to the bath water, swirling it through and allow it to float with you in the water.
