Step 1
Say "I love you." That sounds very simple, but many married couples forget to tell their partners that they love them. Do not just assume that your spouse knows that you love him. Knowing someone loves you and hearing the words spoken are two different things.
-
Step 2
Listen to your partner when he talks. Often we get so caught up in the daily grind that we forget to listen to those we love most. When you are talking to each other, stop whatever you are doing and pay attention. Feeling that someone cares what you have to say makes you feel important and special.
-
Step 3
Touch each other more. Chances are good that you hugged and kissed more when you were newlyweds than you do now. Doing things like putting your hand on your partner's shoulder or holding her hand when walking to the car is a great step towards putting romance back into a rocky marriage.
-
Step 4
Offer to give a massage. Massage can be very romantic. Do not expect to get something in return for the massage though, of your partner will see it more as a ploy to get what you want than a romantic gesture of love.
-
Step 5
Listen to music that you both enjoy. Music that you listened to together when you were dating can create a romantic environment and help you to remember all the reasons you fell in love.
-
Step 6
Schedule a date night once a week. It doesn't matter what you do on your date night, as long as you do it together. The whole idea is to spend time with your partner away from work, children and pressures. Date night can do wonders for adding romance to a rocky marriage.
-
Step 7
Dress for bed. Cleanliness and good grooming shows respect and love for your partner. Get ready for bed at night like you used to get ready for a date. Use some perfume or after shave and dress in sexy lingerie or pajamas.
