How to Behave at a Professional Basketball Game

Professional basketball games have promoted themselves as being "fan"-tastic, but sometimes the fans abuse the privilege of their ticket. Waving your hands to distract a free-throw shooter is one thing, but throwing things at players is another. Who knows why some choose to not act civilized at the arena, but it doesn't mean you can't learn to behave appropriately.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Watch your alcohol consumption, or don't even drink at all. You'll save a bit of money, since alcohol's usually among the most expensive concessions.
Step2
Be a good sport even when your team is losing. Avoid foul language, especially when kids are seated nearby.
Step3
Refrain from arguing with the referee. Just because a call went against your team doesn't mean it was wrong. Even if it might have been wrong, the referee is only human.
Step4
Let a child have a T-shirt or anything else that may be tossed into the stands. Don't fight with a child over these small prizes.
Step5
Keep your shirt on. No one wants to see you act like a Chippendale's dancer. Besides, it's probably not that hot inside the arena.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take a kid with you to the game. Hopefully, you can behave better and set a good example.
  • Always remember these words: it's only a game. Whether your team wins or loses shouldn't affect your life. If you can just remember that, it will be much easier to behave.
