How to Behave at a Professional Baseball Game

Baseball games can be great spectator sports, but they can be ruined by fans behaving disgracefully. People who run onto the field, use excessive bad language and fight with other fans or players take the fun away from everyone else. Follow these guidelines whether at a professional game or a youth game.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Sit in the seat you purchased. It's more than just honesty. You'll avoid trouble with whoever has the seat you're sitting in.
Step2
Watch your alcohol consumption, even if it's a hot day. After all, you didn't need beer to enjoy the game when you were thirteen.
Step3
Keep the cheering and complaints kid-friendly. There probably are kids seated nearby.
Step4
Let a kid have a foul ball or home run ball if it comes your way. It's not worth fighting about.
Step5
Show respect to the umpire, especially at a youth game. Complaining about a call is acceptable, shouting insults is not.
Step6
Cheer for your team but avoid taunting the other. Remember, it's the other team's job to try and win. Besides, rubber arm and belly itcher jokes are old and worn out.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't go onto the field. At a professional game, you will be charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing.
  • Don't throw peanut or anything else at other fans.
