Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Attend or watch televised races as often as possible. This is a fun way to gather detailed horse racing news. Attending live events gives you a chance to talk with other avid fans of the sport.
Step2
Study who the "favorites" are for the top races. Review past race performances and keep up-to-date on which horses are injured.
Step3
Review race results from the top Thoroughbred races throughout the year. The Triple Crown titles is awarded to any horse that wins the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes. The Breeder's Cup World Championships towards the end of the year is often the richest day in sports with over $20 million awarded in prize money.
Step4
Identify the top jockeys, trainers and breeders. All these people contribute to a horse's ability to win. Next to the best horses, the jockey is the most widely recognized by horse racing fans.
