Have you ever gone to the grocery store for a few things and then realized you came home without picking up a few items which you intended to? Making a grocery list can save you this hassle and make you a more organized shopper. You'll never forget anything at the store again after becoming a disciplined list-maker. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plan which meals you are going to make in the next few days to a week. Check your supply of each ingredient needed and write down the items you need to buy.

  2. Step 2

Check your supply of beverage items and write down those that you think you will need in the next week. Do the same with miscellaneous items like spices and snacks.

  3. Step 3

Organize your list now that you have written down all the items you need. Categorize them to make shopping with the list easier. You can make sections such as "Produce," "Baking Items," "Meat" and "Breakfast Items." Or, if you know your grocery store well, you can organize by aisle number and department, and compile it in an order that will navigate you through the store in an efficient manner.

  4. Step 4

Get into the habit of doing this each week. The organization can take a long time at first, but once you get into a routine, you will be able to do it with ease.

Tips & Warnings
  • Purchase a whiteboard for your kitchen or post a piece of paper onto your fridge, secured by a magnet. When you think of things throughout the week that you will need to shop for, write it on the list. Then, when you make your grocery list, be sure to add the items from this list to it.
