Instructions

    • 1

Set up a large net at the end of your backyard property. This will protect any houses that might be behind yours. It also helps to minimize lost balls.

    • 2

Figure out where you want to place your tee-off spot. This is where you will place your driving range mat. It should be adjacent to the net you put up at the end of the property.

    • 3

Use a tape measure to measure out various distances between the tee-off mat and the net. Mark each distance with a flag or place marker.

    • 4

Measure the distance between the practice mat and the net. Tack up a target on the net marked with the maximum distance in your backyard.

    • 5

Try to build your setup in a location that is fairly level. Clear away any and all debris, lawn furniture, etc.

    • 6

Check online at golf supply stores. Many of them offer complete driving range kits for your backyard, complete with practice mats, safety netting, and markers.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be mindful of areas heavy with windows when choosing where to set up your backyard driving range.
