Step 1
Avoid going naked in any area that is not specifically set apart for nudism. In most cases, nudist beaches and resorts have legal recognition (and even when they don't, they are often tolerated by law enforcement). If you set one naked foot out of these special areas, however, you risk arrest.
-
Step 2
Go naked at night. You're less likely to be seen under cover of darkness. Plus, the later it gets, the fewer people there will be around to spot you. Your chances of getting away with it increase even further if you stay away from street lights.
-
Step 3
Refrain from being naked in front of children. Even states with very liberal public nudity laws tend to frown on this sort of thing. Exposing genitalia or other private body parts to minors is almost a sure invitation to arrest.
-
Step 4
Get naked in out-of-the way areas. The woods, a deserted public swimming pool, a secluded alley or dumpster area behind a strip mall are all examples of places with low pedestrian traffic. If you've absolutely got to be nude in public, your risk of getting caught in places like these is much lower than if you stripped in front of the local bowling alley.

Step 5
Read up on the nudity laws of your state. Each state has different rules and regulations regarding public nudity. You can avoid running afoul of the law by perusing your state statutes at the local library or by visiting NudistLaw.com (see Resources below).
