How to Use Game Cheats for Pokemon Pearl

Created for the Nintendo DS handheld video game console, Pokemon Pearl is a wildly popular game based in which players must stop Team Galactic from ending all life on Earth. Both Pokemon Pearl and its companion game, Pokemon Diamond, can be played online over the Internet using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Read on to learn more.

Liven Up Your Game of Pokemon Pearl When You Use Cheats

1. Use the Magma Armor or Flame Body ability to hatch eggs in half the normal amount of time.

2. Unlock the National Dex by seeing all the Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex. While earlier versions of the game required you to actually catch all the Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex to unlock the National Dex, in Pokemon Pearl, you must simply view them.

3. Gain stars by completing any of these tasks, in any order: defeat the Elite Four, capture each of the 482 different Pokemon, capture 50 flags in the Underground to get a Platinum Flag, win a Master Rank Super Contest or win 100 straight fights in the Super Tower. Each task gives you one star, and finishing all five gets you the coveted five stars.

4. Use cheats related to the colored cards to earn stars faster. You begin the game with the Red Card, but you can earn an extra star by gaining the Blue Card. The Bronze Card gives you two stars immediately, the Silver Star gives you three stars and the Gold Card gives you four stars.

5. Get the Black Card to get an instant five stars. This is one of the most helpful cheats in the game.

• Connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to link up with other Pokemon Pearl players from around the world. This gives you the ability not only to fight, but also to trade secrets and information with other online players.
• There are glitches in some versions of Pokemon Pearl, particularly those that originated in Japan (as opposed to the United States). The most common glitches users report are getting stuck in a wall or making their way into areas that are supposed to be unreachable. If you get into an unreachable area, you might not be able to save your game.
