The purpose of trading your Digimon cards is to get the most powerful Digimon. You should trade away your weaker Digimon cards as your collection of stronger Digimon cards grows. Your ultimate goal is to have a set of 50 strong Digimon collectible card-game cards, so that you can prevail during Digimon card battles.

Things You'll Need:

  • Digimon cards
  1. Step 1

Look at the attack number for the card for which you want to trade. The attack number is located on the left, just below the Digimon photo on the face of the card. A higher attack number indicates a stronger Digimon card.

  2. Step 2

Compare the defense number of the Digimon cards you are considering trading. Higher defense numbers will withstand stronger attacks. The defense number is located immediately under the attack number on the front of the card.

  3. Step 3

Trade common Digimon cards for more rare cards. The level of rarity is located underneath the defense number on the front of each card. Holographic cards are always more rare than regular paper cards.

  4. Step 4

Check out the Digimon level of each card. Digimon digivolve into stronger forms of themselves, and the higher the Digimon card's level, the closer the Digimon is to its fully transformed form. Levels begin with Rookie, and then move progressively through Champion, Ultimate and Mega levels.

  5. Step 5

Trade more than one weaker card for a strong Digimon that you have always wanted. Even though you are down by two cards, you can always get common cards later.

  6. Step 6

Join an online Digimon discussion group. This can put you in contact with Digimon card traders around the world that you wouldn't meet otherwise.

  7. Step 7

Make a list of Digidestined cards in your collection before you trade Digimon cards. Digidestined cards are used to supplement your attacks during Digimon card battles. Trading a common Digimon for a rare, Digidestined card may be a good move for you.

  8. Step 8

Read the card number in the left corner of the card to check rarity. Cards numbered V1 through V8 are the most rare while cards numbered 4 through 34 are the most common.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask other Digimon card collectors how reputable a new trading partner is before you ship your cards off to him.
  • Store your Digimon cards in plastic sleeves when not in use. This can help preserve their condition. You can make better trades with pristine cards than with dirty or damaged ones.
  • Don't expect one card to be unquestionably superior. Remember that all Digimon cards have weaknesses, and no card will trump all the others.
