Chinese Checkers was actually created in Germany under the name Stern-Halma. Its name was changed in the USA to give the game a more exotic sound. The board game's six-pointed star allows up to six people the opportunity to play at once. Each player has 10 game pieces (marbles in a physical game) to move across the board during the game. When six people play, a huge traffic jam of game pieces takes place in the middle of the star. You can play Chinese Checkers for hours on end, with people from all over the USA, at Yahoo!! Games.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Yahoo!! account

Step1
Pick the Chinese Checkers game from Yahoo!! board games by clicking the game name or game icon (see Resources below).
Step2
Log in to the Yahoo!! game system, so that your Chinese Checkers stats can be kept for future games.
Step3
Advance past the advertisement by clicking the statement directing you to continue to the game.
Step4
Look at the box with letters and numbers in it and write the letters and numbers in the appropriate box. This helps Yahoo!! manage real players verses spamming computers.
Step5
Choose the game room you want to play in by clicking the name of the room or start a quick game by clicking the "Play Now" button.
Step6
Join a Chinese Checkers game already set up by another player, or create a new table to have the option of choosing how many players will participate. You can tell how many players are in the game by looking at the number of names and join buttons available.
Step7
Move your game pieces by clicking and dragging the piece you want to move to an available position. You'll know it is available because of a shading on the hole when it is your turn.
Step8
Win the Chinese Checkers game by being the first player to move all of your game pieces from the starting star point to the destination star point directly across from the starting position.

Tips & Warnings

  • Plan ahead and strategize how to make the best use of hopping over your own game pieces and those of your opponents. Sometimes, it can be beneficial to jump backwards a couple of places to jump more game pieces and get toward your star point.
  • Don't get caught with any game pieces stuck in the beginning triangle.
  • You can't run your game pieces through another player's triangle. Your game pieces can only move in the beginning triangle and in the destination triangle for your color.
