How to Play Bookworm at Yahoo!! Games

PopCap games released the Bookworm game in November 2006 and it quickly became one of Yahoo!! Games' most popular word games. Players join Lex the Worm on an adventure through Ancient Greece in story mode. You will battle all kinds of enemies, ranging from Roman soldiers to a Kraken. As you beat enemies and win battles, more games are opened for later play.

Things You’ll Need:

• At least 25 MB of available hard-drive space

1. Direct your favorite web browser to Yahoo!! Games and go to the section of the website containing word-based games (see Resources below).
2. Scroll down to Bookworm, and click the game name or the icon.
3. Give the free-trial version of Bookworm a try by clicking the "Download Game" button.
4. Select the "Open" option when the download box pops up on your screen.
5. Choose "Run" to install the game on your computer immediately.
6. Select where you want to save the game and continue the installation.
7. Open the game after installation and enter your name when Lex the Worm asks for it.
8. Read the conversations between Lex and various friends you meet along the way to gain valuable information on upcoming battles and places you visit.
9. Look the letters over as you face your first opponent and try to spell a word containing five or more letters. Words must use at least three letters.
10. Continue battling enemies to get power-up items, more powerful letters (weapons) and increased health for Lex.
11. Beat the game by spelling your way through Ancient Greece, beating all kinds of different enemies.

Tips & Warnings

• Spell smaller words to save good letters for the next battle when you have an enemy beaten down to one heart.
• Spell the longest and most difficult words you can come up with early in the battles against various bosses.
• Try to save letter combinations like "ed" and "ing" to make bigger words when facing bosses.
• Playing the free download of the game will limit the time you can play before you have to purchase Bookworm. You can play for approximately 30 minutes. You will need to purchase the full version to have enough time to beat the game.
