When gambling halls first introduced Pontoon/21 to players, it was largely ignored in comparison to other poker games. To get more people to play, owners of gambling establishments developed a system to pay 10 to one odds for a player who wins the hand with the ace of spades and a black jack (clubs or spades). Blackjack is now one of the most popular gambling games. You can work on your Blackjack skills when you play this game at Yahoo!! Games.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take the first step toward getting to the game by clicking on the Blackjack word or icon at Yahoo!! card games (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Log in to the system by providing your Yahoo!! user information. This will help you keep track of game stats.

  3. Step 3

Jump past the advertisement quickly by selecting the "Click Here to Continue" link.

  4. Step 4

Choose the game room you want to play in by clicking it or click on "Play Now!" to start playing quickly.

  5. Step 5

Enter the numbers and letters required into the specified box to take the next step toward playing the game.

  6. Step 6

Choose a table to sit at by clicking one of the "Join" buttons.

  7. Step 7

Place your bet quickly because you only have 3 seconds to choose between 1, 5 or 20 dollars. You can also bet the max by clicking the appropriate buttons.

  8. Step 8

Count the value of your cards to see how close you are to 21. Cards with numbers provide the number shown toward your total (six of diamonds is worth six) and face cards are worth 10. Aces can be worth 1 or 11, depending on what is best for you.

  9. Step 9

Look at the single card showing for the dealer. You want to know how close the dealer may or may not be to 21 before you continue.

  10. Step 10

Decide whether or not to take another card to raise your total closer to 21. Click the "Hit" button to take another card or click the "Stand" button to stay with the cards you have. You can take more cards until you hit 21 or bust, but keep in mind that all you need is a higher total than the dealer to win the hand.

  11. Step 11

Wait for other players to make decisions on their turns. Also, wait for the dealer to finish his hand to find out whether you've won the round.

  12. Step 12

Continue betting and playing as long as you like, and Yahoo!! will keep track of your winnings during the game and from session to session.

Tips & Warnings
  • Play the odds before you ask for another card. If you have 17 or more, you should consider staying (not asking for another card).
  • Remember, the only player you have to beat is the dealer.
  • Your computer must have the ability to run Java scripts to play Blackjack at Yahoo!! Games.
  • Play fast because the game moves very quickly for bidding and playing your hand.
