Artists and amateurs alike use sports cars as their muse as they progress in their crafts. Vehicles by Lamborghini, Ferrari and other companies provide sleek lines and unique profiles for artists who want a challenge. Once you learn to draw a Lamborghini, you are able to create storyboards and art featuring a cultural icon.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Ruler
  • Colored pencils
  • Pencils with different grades
  • Sketch pad

Step1
Create an outline of a Lamborghini that helps define the height and width of your drawing. You should look at a picture and the specifications of a particular model of Lamborghini in order to get the right scale compared to your picture's background.
Step2
Turn your Lamborghini outline into a real car by creating wheel circles and wheel-cover details. You should use a small, round object, like the bottom of a glass bottle, to help you create a perfect wheel. Add details for the number of spokes on the wheel cover to distinguish your early drawing from simple sketches.
Step3
Install rear-view mirrors off the side of your Lamborghini before you proceed to details with a higher degree of difficulty. The side mirrors on a Lamborghini can help you put details, like the size of the windows, into context by establishing a frame of reference.
Step4
Define specific lines on the hood, doors and top of the Lamborghini. You should use a ruler to create a straight line to make the contours of the Lamborghini pop out at the viewer.
Step5
Add geometric shapes to your Lamborghini as you finish your drawing. Headlights, grills and doorknobs are only a few of the objects that require a sharp eye and a great deal of attention during your sketch.
Step6
Test out color combinations as you begin to fill in the empty spaces in your Lamborghini sketch. You should consult Lamborghini paint codes on Lamborghini Cars to get official color blends offered by the manufacturer (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings

  • Collect pictures of a Lamborghini from multiple angles in order to draw your car effectively. Photos from the front of a Lamborghini are drastically different from pictures from the rear bumper. You should get a profile view, front view and overhead view, when possible, to draw a complete picture.
  • Allow your Lamborghini drawing to stand out with a subdued background. You can use a gray street, light-blue skies and rolling hills to keep your viewer's attention on the car.
