Meatloaf! Grandma knew how to make the best. Now you can WOW your own family with an update to the traditional recipe.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/2 lb mild pork sausage(or turkey)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs(all flavors are great)
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 pinch of garlic
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • For a little something extra: Can of Corn, can of diced green chiles
  1. Step 1

Mix all ingredients together in large bowl, except for the can of diced tomatoes. Mix should stick together and yet be rather sticky. You may need to add more bread crumbs depending on elevation and extras that have been added.

  2. Step 2

Spray a large deep sided sauce pan with cooking spray. Mound the Meatloaf in middle of the pan. Making the thickness as even as possible throughout.

  3. Step 3

Pour can of diced over the meatloaf. A 1/2 of water can be added to make sauce thinner.

  4. Step 4

Cover. Cook on Medium heat for 30 minutes. Time may vary depending on ground beef or ground turkey.

  5. Step 5

To check - cut middle if color is tan allow to stand in covered pan with the heat turned off.

  6. Step 6

Serve with mashed potatoes or white rice. --- YUM ---

Tips & Warnings
  • Meatloaf does not need to be bland anymore. Try new and different ingredients, go leaner the milk will keep it moist.
  • To make sure that meat is thoroughly cooked use meat thermometer.
