Or how to go where your soul meets God and the Universe.. I can!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Nothing
Step1
Decide you want to calm down.
You may think this obvious, but this is the step we can't remember:)
Decide to be calm.
Step2
Turn blind!
You can find a quiet corner if you want, but it is not necessary.
Close your eyes- cut off visual stimuli.
Close your mouth- nothing is worth saying if it cannot come out like honey.
Close your ears- with your invisible hands- you don't need to listen to your nagging spouse/barking dog/phone machine/for this.
Step3
Watch and listen.
Watch the blackness that is right behind your eyelid. Watch that space- change and morph and dance and zoom.
Watch the blackness till you can hear the sound between your ears. It sounds like a faint, yet shrill whistle that sounds deafening when the calm is on.
Step4
Explore
In that calm that you can see and hear, explore, as if exploring rooms in an old house. That old house is your soul that is my soul that is the soul of the person you hate most in the world and the soul of the centipede and the soul of the dinosaurs. Your soul has all answers that you are not even searching for.
Step5
Vacation over! Snap back.
If you are in a bad situation, there may be some sound stimulus that pulls you back to reality. This is harsh, but you are armed with calm.

Tips & Warnings

  • Meeting your soul in this manner will show your human mind the limitless resource you have on tap.
  • It is disrespectful to the universe when you interact with other human beings without calm. The world will never be saved by an anxious soul.
  • Carry on practising until you can find that old house in a matter of seconds and explore that house whenever you have a few seconds.
  • Once you master 'calm on tap', please do not force people to go there. Do not hold their hand and tell them what to experience. Their soul is your soul is my soul is infinitely capable of satisfying itself without human direction.
