The Boss is Back! Bruce's new album, Magic, hits the stores in early October. With these helpful hints you too can call yourself a Bruce fan.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • blue jeans, bandana (optional), white t-shirt

Step1
First, you need to know a bit of history. Bruce's band is known as the E Street Band. The band started playing together in the early 1970's and made it big with Born to Run, which was first released in 1975.
Step2
Next, you need to be able to name at least 2 members of the E Street Band, one of which must be Clarence Clemmons. Steven Van Zandt (aka little Steven, aka Silvio Dante from the Sopranos), Max Weinberg from the Conan show, and Patty Scialfa (aka Mrs. Springsteen) are also well-know members of the group.
Step3
Get tickets to the concert. There are lots of options, including the exchange at Backstreets.com, a definitive fan site for Bruce fans.
Step4
Know the words to Born To Run. When you are at the concert, Bruce WILL play it - and you MUST sing it. He may change it up and go acoustic on you, so be on your toes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get to the concert early. The tailgating in the parking lot is not to be missed. Springsteen fans LOVE a good tailgate.
  • Check the setlists on backstreets.com to find out what Bruce has been playing in recent shows.

on 10/17/2007 You don't have to feel guilty. He's one of the great American song writers. I'll even go as far as to say the greatest. Modest Mouse could never write Thunder Road.
