How to Knit a Scarf in 3 Colors

How to Knit a Scarf in 3 Colors thumbnail
Choose your three colors and get ready to knit a beautiful scarf.

Knitting a scarf in three colors uses the same basic knitting principles as any knitting. Choose colors that complement each other or provide a nice contrast to each other. Pick a yarn that is soft to the skin and provides warmth such as merino wool or an alpaca yarn. This scarf is knit in a worsted weight yarn at a gauge of four stitches to the inch in a sailor's rib stitch which keeps the scarf from curling at the edges and is reversible. The stitch adds texture to the scarf, while still being easy to work and easy to switch yarns when you are ready to introduce a new color.
