How to Get an iTunes Account Without a Credit Card

You can still get an iTunes account, even if you don't have a credit card.

When applying for an iTunes account, most new users simply provide a credit card number to facilitate instant account setup. If you don’t have a credit card, or you don’t want to use your credit card online, you can still set up an iTunes account. Aside from the convenience of being able to download music and apps with a few quick clicks or taps, iTunes account holders enjoy other perks, including free songs, shows and music videos.

Things You'll Need

• iTunes gift card
• Internet access

Instructions

1. Go to your nearest supermarket or electronics retailer and purchase an iTunes gift card.

2. Open a Web browser and go to the iTunes download page on the Apple website. Download the current version of iTunes and install the program on your computer.

3. Launch iTunes once it is installed and click on "iTunes Store" in the menu on the left side of the application window.

4. Click on the “Sign In” button in the upper right corner, just below the search bar.

5. Click on "Create New Account" in the window that opens. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your iTunes account. When prompted for a credit card number, select the “Gift Card” option and type in the code on the back of the gift card.
