Chicken tenders are better than wings and country fried chicken better than baked. Spicy hot country fried chicken tenders served with ranch dressing make a fabulous half-time lunch.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • chicken tenders
  • buttermilk
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • corn oil
  • butter
  • Louisiana hot sauce
  • sour cream
  • mayonaise
  • dried ranch dressing mix
  • celery
  • carrots
  • cucumber
  1. Step 1

Soak the chicken in buttermilk while you heat the cooking oil and mix the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture until no longer sticky. (Hint: put the dry ingredients in a paper bag and shaking the wet tenders in it until they are dry.)

  2. Step 2

Slowly add chicken to hot oil and cook until almost done (light golden brown).

  3. Step 3

Take out the chicken and lay it on a flat pan lined with brown paper bag or paper towel to drain excess oil.

  4. Step 4

Melt butter in microwave. Add Louisiana Hot Sauce to butter (entire bottle).

  5. Step 5

Dip each piece of chicken in hot sauce mixture and return to flat pan.

  6. Step 6

Bake in 375 degree over for 20 minutes.

  7. Step 7

While chicken is in the oven, mix 1/2 cup mayo with 1/2 cup sour cream and one package dry ranch salad dressing mix.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve cut up veggies and dip with chicken tenders to cool the tongue between spicy bites!
  • Not for those who don't like spicy food! If this is too hot for you, reduce the amount of hot sauce added to the butter.
