My daughter called me at work, and told me she spilled Dark Red polish on my new white area rug. Since the finger nail polish remover, was spreading the spot. I told her to leave it alone. I came home, almost cried, then pulled up e-how on the Internet.

on 11/25/2008 I am so glad that we checked this web site. My daughter broke a bottle of red finger nail polish and it went all over our brown couch and tan carpet. We used the shaving cream and it took it all out! Thanks again!!

on 2/27/2008 I am so delighted that this worked!! I got a drop of nail polish on my carpet nearly two months ago. It was taunting me every day, and I knew I had to figure something out [especially as I am a renter]. I came to eHow and found this tip, and though it seemed too good to be true, I went to the store and picked up some Barbasol. Sure enough!! Much to my great relief, the stain was removed. Whew!!
