Adding gray to your attire can lend your wardrobe a subtle elegance. Gray complements a much wider range of colors than black, brown or white and it can go dressy or casual, depending on the accountrements you choose. Here's how to wear it to advantage.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Slip on everything gray. For every article of clothing in your closet, at least one garment category should include something gray. That means pants, ties, jackets, shirts and, of course, shoes.
Step2
Compliment darker colors by contrasting them with the light, subtle shade of gray. Denim in gray against the dark shade of a shirt or jacket will nicely bring out the tones in both articles of clothing.
Step3
Wrap your neck in a soft, subtle gray tie. Adding this accoutrement to a business outfit will allow you to look distinguished without overselling or overwhelming the outfit.
Step4
Place your mitts in pair of nice gray gloves. This works well for both sexes. Men and women alike can benefit from gloves that will look good when worn with any outfit, but still carries the professional appeal of black.
Step5
Learn to accentuate other existing wardrobe styles already in your closet by adding a soft gray touch. Wear gray by putting on a wool cap in the winter. Get a pair of gray tennis shoes to go with a relaxed semi-casual weekend wear.
Step6
Assert yourself during an evening on the town with a gray handbag. The gray in the bag will draw a distinction between the rest of your womanly evening dress and add an interesting flair.
Step7
Wear gray when you simply want to add a modicum of diversity in your wardrobe. Showing you're flexible to new colors and styles of dress will leave you with quite the distinction.
