Anyone can just throw back a shot of vodka, but savoring the beverage and its subtle flavors is something of an art. Here's how to bring out the best in your next glass of vodka.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Swap a shot glass for a chilled glass, something you'd pour scotch into. This way you can sip the vodka and savor it. Sip slowly in small swallows.
Step2
Take the finest vodka in your house and give it some space in the fridge. Drink it cold to bring out the subtle sweetness.
Step3
Note the differences in flavor and craftsmanship of the vodka, depending what it was distilled from. Corn will taste as different from potatoes as rye will from wheat.
Step4
Excuse your mixer for now. The only way to truly tell one vodka from the next is to drink it straight.
