Instructions
  1. Step 1

Polish and even whiten your teeth prior to date number one. Stained and yellow teeth will keep your date from making--or allowing--you to make the first move.

  2. Step 2

Clean and cut your nails. If need be, make sure they're attractive from the inside out. Eat properly, a diet high in keratin, which will strengthen nails, making sure they don't break when you're opening a bottle or can on the first date.

  3. Step 3

Keep your hair and make-up simple, but effective. Appearing natural will keep your date from thinking they are underdressed or that you are too overdone and too high maintenance.

  4. Step 4

Understand the premise of the date and keep yourself from feeling out of place by dressing appropriately. Sport-themed dates require you to dress casually or even in the attire of the home team. A nice dinner might require a jacket and slacks or for the ladies, a skirt and classy blouse.

  5. Step 5

Use your feet to tell your suitor you're interested. It's a first date; feel free to break out those shoes that have never seen the light of day before and lace them up. Showing that you are willing to go the extra mile speaks volumes about your personality.

  6. Step 6

Establish a plan. Dates don't like to be thought of as an afterthought. Make very detailed plans as to how you're going to be spending your first evening out, together and you'll guarantee you'll not be soon forgotten.

  7. Step 7

Calm down and relax. Your potential significant other can wait, for quite some time, to see you loose it at a waiter or in traffic. Handle your problems with a shrug and cool demeanor and you'll be looking at some lovin' in the near future.
