Pigmented leather is easy to clean and maintain. You just need to take a few steps to ensure your leather furniture stays beautiful and lasts for years.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • 3 cleaning cloths
  • Lukewarm water and mild soap

Step1
Arrange your furniture away from any heaters or radiators. Put at least 2 feet between the furniture and your heat sources.
Step2
Keep your furniture out of direct sunlight, which will fade and wear the leather.
Step3
Dust your leather with a dry cloth once a week.
Step4
Wipe down the furniture occasionally. Use lukewarm water and a mild soap with a clean damp cloth to wipe down the leather. Wipe off any soap film with another clean damp cloth. After cleaning the furniture the surface may appear dull. The shine can be restored by wiping the leather with another clean dry cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never use furniture polish, saddle soaps, oil, varnish, ammonia, all purpose cleaners or cleaning solvents to care for pigmented leather furniture.
  • Leather furniture requires special care. Consult with professional cleaners or with leather merchandisers to determine the best method for removing stains.
