Peppermint Christmas candy wreaths are great crafts to make and eat. You can create a melted peppermint candy wreath or use unopened hard peppermint candies for this project. Here's how to make a Christmas candy wreath.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Peppermint candies
  • Aluminum pie tin
  • Cookie sheet
  • Ribbon
  1. Step 1

Pre-heat the oven to 250 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Open a bag of hard, round Christmas peppermint candies and open each individual candy piece.

  3. Step 3

Lay the candies around the edge of a pie tin. Make sure that the pieces are about a 1/2 inch from the edge of the tin and that all the pieces touch each other. Put the pie tin onto a cookie sheet.

  4. Step 4

Place the cookie sheet in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes. Watch the candy as it heats. As soon as the candies melt together, remove the tin from the oven.

  5. Step 5

Allow the wreath to cool for 15 minutes.

  6. Step 6

Use a spatula to remove the cooled candy wreath from the pie tin.

  7. Step 7

Tie a bow with ribbon onto the wreath and a piece of ribbon around the top of the wreath to hang it for decoration.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use different colors of peppermint candies and alternate the colors if you choose to make it multicolored.
  • You can make smaller wreaths in your pie tin and use them as Christmas ornaments.
  • You can also make a wreath without melting the candies. Make a circle with a coat hanger by twisting the ends with needle nose pliers. Tie a piece of ribbon around a piece of peppermint candy and tie the ribbon onto your wreath. Keep doing this until you have a full wreath of candy.
  • Children should be accompanied by an adult when making this craft.
