Make your Easter Egg hunt fun this year by hiding secret messages in your eggs. You can make each message lead the finder of the egg to one that is hidden in another concealed spot. Kids love cracking open the eggs to see what is inside. The following will show you how to make your own Easter eggs with messages hidden inside.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toothpick or straight pin
  • Egg
  • Turkey baster
  • Soap and water
  • Egg dye or markers
  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Stickers
  1. Step 1

Stick a sharp, thin toothpick or straight pin into one end of an uncooked egg, making a small hole. Make a larger hole on the other end of the egg.

  2. Step 2

From the larger hole, suck out the contents of the egg with a turkey baster. You can also blow through the small end to push the egg yolk out the larger hole.

  3. Step 3

Turn the faucet on and gently rinse out the eggshell with soap and water.

  4. Step 4

Gently shake the excess water from the eggshell. Set the shell to the side and allow it to dry thoroughly.

  5. Step 5

Decorate your egg with egg dye or with colored markers while gingerly handling the shell. Set the shell to the side once more to allow it to dry.

  6. Step 6

Cut a small piece of paper and write a message on it. Roll up the paper and carefully stick the paper through the larger hole in the egg.

  7. Step 7

Decorate your egg with stickers. Stick the stickers over the holes in the egg to completely conceal them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hide your mystery eggs in an Easter egg hunt. Make it extra fun by placing dollar bills into the eggs.
  • Make your own dye with a few drops of food coloring mixed with one tablespoon of water and one tablespoon of white vinegar or use store bought egg dyes.
  • Don't put anything heavier than paper into the egg, or it will crack and break.
