Che Guevara, born Ernesto Guevara de la Serna in Argentina, was a revolutionary who came to symbolize the socialist struggle in Latin American for equality and worker's rights. Although great controversy stills swirls around Guevara, many people consider him a symbol of rebellion against oppression and injustice. If you want to honor the memory of the controversial Latin American figure follow these steps.

Visit a Che Guevara memorial. Many admirers of Guevara honor the man's memory by visiting one of the many memorials dedicated to him. One of the most famous is the Cuban memorial to Guevara at the entrance to "Che City." The memorial shows a copy of Castro's letter of appreciation to Che that is set in stone on the memorial.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once you have an understanding of the complex life of the real Che Guevara, look again at the ways in which he's become a symbol in popular culture.
