You can purchase confetti-filled balloons for your New Year's Eve party or you can make your own. Confetti balloons make a fun New Year's Eve party favor. Pop these balloons at the start of the New Year and watch them explode into a cloud of confetti.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 large round balloon
  • ¼ cup of paper
  • Funnel
  • Toothpick
Step1
Open the end of a large round balloon and put the small end of a funnel into it.
Step2
Pour the ¼ cup of paper confetti into the large end of the funnel so that it goes inside the balloon.
Step3
Remove the balloon from the end of the funnel. Pinch the end shut and shake the balloon lightly to get the confetti to the bottom of the balloon.
Step4
Blow up the balloon. Don't get any of the confetti into your mouth or into your lungs.
Step5
Tie a secure knot in the balloon after it is the size you want it to be.
Step6
Hold the balloon away from your face and pop it with a toothpick when the clock shows midnight on New Year's Eve. Remember to shout, "Happy New Year!"

Tips & Warnings

  • If you would rather have helium-filled balloons, you can fill your balloons with confetti and inflate them with helium using rented tanks or small kits that you can purchase at department stores.
  • Instead of purchasing confetti, you can make your own by cutting up different colors of construction paper into tiny squares.
  • Don't use tiny metallic confetti because it is hard to clean up afterward.
