There are two major forms of living on campus, Dorms and Greek Societies. You if you are interested in Greek life or are a Greek Legacy, then you will be living in the Greek house you are a member of. Dorms are mostly full og freshman, as many universities require freshman to live on campus, but may also be available for upperclassmen. Use these steps to learn how to afford the high costs of living on campus.

Step1
Work it into your financial aid package. If you are a student on financial aid your housing costs will become part of your overall education costs and help you get a higher award.
Step2
Get a scholarship. Scholarships can be using for any expense that is acquired through the university, which includes on campus housing. The extra work will be well worth it when it comes time to move in.
Step3
Land a job. You can get a part-time job while in school or save the money you earn from a job during the summer's between academic years to raise the money to pay for your on campus housing.
Step4
Apply for a loan. Many loans that are available through the Department of Education are deferred until after you graduation from college and can be used for anything, as the money is paid to you through the financial aid office.

  • Students who live on campus showing higher GPAs and more school involvement.
  • When placed in on campus housing you are asked to fill out a profile, which enables the student housing office to match students with similar likes, classes and activity interests.
