When purchasing new sets of sheets, you can always reuse the old sheets for drop cloths or dust covers. But what do you do with the pillowcases? Whether you recycle or buy new ones, pillowcases have a lot of terrific uses besides covering bed pillows.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Trap dust bunnies on the ceiling fans. Slide an old pillowcase over the ceiling fan blades then slowly pull it away to trap the dust inside the case.
Step2
Slip a pillowcase over the end of a broom to attack cobwebs. Secure the pillowcase with a twist tie. Go after the cobwebs without scratching or marking the wall.
Step3
Make a travel pillow for kids on a car trip. Slide a favorite pillow into several layers of pillowcases, then pull off the outer case to reveal a fresh one as needed.
Step4
Gift wrap oddly shaped presents by placing them in a pretty pillow case. Secure the pillow case with ribbon and a bow.
Step5
Store sweaters and seasonal clothing in old pillowcases. Items can breathe and stay clean and dust-free.
Step6
Machine wash delicates in a pillowcase. Secure the top of the pillowcase with a rubber band. Gather up beanbag toys and small washable plush toys in a pillowcase for machine washing on gentle.
Step7
Use pillowcases instead of fitted sheets on a changing table pad. Use white, pastels or brightly colored cases and slip them on one over the other. Remove the outer pillowcase as it becomes soiled.
