The Eudora email application has a filter that help you block out all of that unwanted spam in your email. While this filters out a lot of spam, it's not perfect. Some spam still gets through. Also, it's possible that some messages you may want to receive are labeled as spam. Eudora SpamWatch helps you train Eudora regarding what's spam and what isn't.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open Eudora. Before you can add the SpamWatch features to your toolbar, you need to customize the Eudora toolbar.

  2. Step 2

Right-click anywhere on the toolbar where you want to add the SpamWatch buttons. Choose "Customize" from the list of options.

  3. Step 3

Click on the "General" tab in the customize window. Choose "Message" from the category menu on the left side of the window.

  4. Step 4

Look for the SpamWatch buttons. SpamWatch consists of two buttons, one for marking messages as spam and one for marking them as not spam. The one for marking messages as spam is an envelope with fish bones, and the one for marking a message as not spam is a diamond with fish bones. If you are not sure which buttons you need to add, click on the buttons to read a description of what they do.

  5. Step 5

Click on the icons with your pointer, and drag them to the spot on the toolbar where you want to place them. Then let go. The SpamWatch icons are now in the toolbar.

  6. Step 6

Use the Eudora SpamWatch buttons to mark spam. Highlight a message, and mark it as either spam or not spam. Eudora eventually learns what you consider spam and what you don't consider spam.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you make a mistake adding an icon to the toolbar, you can remove an icon by clicking on it and dragging it back to the "Customize" window.
