How to Set Up Eudora to Send and Receive Mail

Setting up Eudora is simple once you have the necessary tools. If you don't know your server information offhand, make a quick call to your internet service provider, and you'll be good to go. Whether you are using Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X, these guidelines will help you set up Eudora to send and receive email.

Things You’ll Need:

• Internet access
• POP3 or IMAP4 email account with an ISP (internet service provider)
• Eudora

For Windows Users

1. Get your email settings from your internet service provider (ISP), including your POP (mail server), your SMTP (outgoing mail server) and your email login and address.
2. Double-click on the "Eudora" icon to open the program. Select "Tools" and then "Options."
3. Choose "Getting Started," and in the "Real Name" field, enter your name the way you want it to appear when someone receives email from you (for example, "Mary Smith"). Add your email address in the "Return Address" field (such as "[e-mail]").
4. Enter your POP in the "Mail Server (Incoming)" field (pop-server.eudoramail.com), then add your login name.
5. Enter your POP in the "Mail Server (Incoming)" field (pop-server.eudoramail.com), then add your login name.
6. Verify that "Allow Authentication" is checked, and if no check mark appears, click on the box.
7. Send a test email to make sure it's set up properly.

For Mac Users

8. Double-click on the "Eudora" icon to open the program. Select "Special" and click "Settings."

11. Input your SMTP in the "SMTP Server (Outgoing)" field
    (smtp-server.eudoramail.com).
12. Insert your email address in the "Return Address" field (such as "[e-mail]"). Click "OK."
