If your dream is to teach math or science, you might qualify for a Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Fellowship. This fellowship is set up to help people who graduate with Bachelor's degrees pay for their secondary teaching certification. The fellowship also sets you up with networking possibilities. Here's how you can apply for a Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Fellowship.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Complete an undergraduate math or science program from a college or university.

  2. Step 2

Go online to the "Knowles Science Teaching Foundation" website. Find and fill out the fellowship application.

  3. Step 3

Mail in three sealed letters of recommendation as well as your official transcripts. Follow the specific instructions on your online application form.

  4. Step 4

Have a phone interview. The Foundation will interview applicants who meet the minimum qualifications. If you are selected from this pool of applicants, you will continue on to step five.

  5. Step 5

Go on to a personal, face-to-face interview in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There you will meet with a group of Knowles Science Foundation representatives.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you choose references who can write you superb letters of recommendation. The best candidates for doing this for you are people who have interacted with you inside and outside of a classroom. Choose professors you've done extra work for or those you speak to during their office hours.
  • Practice good interviewing techniques before going to your face-to-face interview. Dress professionally and be enthusiastic.
