Most video games have cheat codes built right into them. These codes were put into the game by its developers to test aspects of the game without having to actually play the game. Several websites collect and verify the codes so game players can access them. The game Guitar Hero for the PS2 has several cheats built into it. Steps for finding those cheats are explained below.

From Quick Guide: Video Game Cheat Codes
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An Internet connection
  • A Web browser
  1. Step 1

Search for cheats on your favorite search engine, which will get you several hits but it can also lead your computer to potentially dangerous and embarrassing sites.

  2. Step 2

Browse to the Cheats, Codes and Guides website. They have a comprehensive website filled with codes. To find the Guitar Hero cheat page, you can search for it in the bar at the top or select "PS2," "G," and then "Guitar Hero."

  3. Step 3

Try GameFaqs as well. To find the Guitar Hero cheat page, you can search for it in the bar at the top or select "PS2," "G," and then "Guitar Hero." You will find yourself on a summary page where you can select "FAQs and Guides," "Codes and Secrets" and "Saved Games."

  4. Step 4

Look in all of the sections on GameFaqs for information. In the "Codes and Secrets" section there are cheat codes like you can find on other websites. The "FAQs and Guides" section has walkthroughs and compiled information about the game. While they may not be traditional cheats they will help a stuck player. The "Saved Games" section is an archive of uploaded files so you can play other people's games, often bypassing most or all of the problem areas.

Tips & Warnings
  • Not all sites will have exactly the same information. If you are trying a code and it doesn't work, check out a different site.
  • It is not uncommon for cheat websites to receive support from adult advertising. Be careful going to any site that you aren't familiar with.
  • Cheating websites are a hotbed of phishing activity. Never trust a cheat site that requires you to download or install programming; better safe than sorry.
