How to Run Errands With Infant Twins

Getting out of the house on a regular basis is an important milestone for the parents of infant twins. Regular outings are a great way to provide fresh air and stimulation for infants. The keys to getting about successfully alone with your twins are organization and preparation.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Invest in an extra-large, sturdy, well-constructed diaper bag. Stock the bag with the following items: two bottles of expressed milk or formula, a change of clothes, at least four diapers, baby wipes, two wash cloths, two bibs and two snacks (when the babies are of age).

  2. Step 2

Purchase a good quality stroller. When you go out with infant twins that are unable to walk, a stroller is a lifesaver. Consider the following when selecting a model. Is it lightweight enough for you to carry alone? Is it complicated to set up and break down? Does it fit your height and move and turn with ease? Is it narrow enough to fit through most standard doorways and shopping isles. Is there adequate storage space for the diaper bag and other items while shopping?

  3. Step 3

Plan your errands around naps and feedings. Before you leave the house make a detailed list of everything that you must accomplished during the outing. Think about the layout of each place on your errand list. Think about where departments and items are located inside of the store. Then plan your route accordingly to avoid the sections of the store that have nothing to do with your errand.
