Step 1
Park your car on Ohio Drive. Although it is recommended that you rely on public transportation, you can find visitor parking between the Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Memorial on Ohio Drive.

Visit the Jefferson Memorial for free. There is no fee to visit the memorial, and it's open to the public 24 hours a day all year round.

Step 3
Find a park ranger until 11:30 p.m. to answer any questions. A National Park Service ranger is stationed at the memorial from 9:30 a.m. to respond to any queries about the history of the memorial.

Step 4
Start by examining the statue of Thomas Jefferson. The massive likeness of the third President is in the center of the room and is over 19-feet tall.

Notice the architecture of the Jefferson Memorial. The memorial design is reminiscent of Roman architecture. A shallow dome at the center is surrounded by columns. The building is completely open.

Read through the engravings that are taken from Jefferson's writings. The walls are covered with passages from letters and documents that were penned by the former president.
