In the Sims and Sims 2 computer games, Environment (or "Room") score can be conducive to a Sim's happiness. Even decorative touches that don't effect your Sim's mood can be fun to incorporate as you decorate your Sim's home.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Paint the walls. The game provides many aesthetically pleasing wall designs, and a soft colored paint or wood panel wall is a nice touch in the living areas. Colorful wallpaper can add some character to bedrooms.
Step2
Put window coverings on the windows. Sims 2 comes with curtains and mini-blinds.
Step3
Carpet and cover the floors with neutral tones so they will complement the furniture you decide to put in the house.
Step4
Furnish the home with matching furniture in each room. Use the same types of wood throughout all the rooms, and find matching sets of couches and chairs to decorate living and family rooms.
Step5
Give the home an artistic touch. Purchase wall art and hang at least 1 piece on a wall in every room. Purchase knickknacks and other decorative items and place them in often-used areas of the house. Purchase throw rugs to add more appeal to bare-looking floors.
Step6
Plant flowers outside, especially in entrance and exit areas. Use shrubs to create foliage fences and plant trees to give your Sim's home curb appeal.
Step7
Complete your house decorating with a siding design on the outside of your home and a simple roof.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have your Sims water and care for the flowers, shrubs and trees in the yard, or hire a gardener.
