George Washington wanted 6-point stars for the American flag. But Betsy Ross thought 5-point stars would be better. She impressed everyone by folding a piece of paper and making a perfect 5-point star with one snip. Follow these steps to cut a 5-point star in one snip.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Fold a piece of regular white computer printer paper in half by bringing the 2 short sides together.

  2. Step 2

Fold it in half again, bringing the short sides together. Unfold that fold and fold it in half again, bringing the two long sides together. Unfold that fold so you have four sections divided by creases. The short sides of the paper go up and down, the wide sides go sideways. Make sure the creased edge is on top.

  3. Step 3

Grab the upper left corner of the paper, making sure it's the edge of the paper with the crease. Bring the corner down to the right until it meets the center crease line. Make a fold.

  4. Step 4

Grasp the same corner and fold it over to the left until the edge of it is even with the crease you just made. Fold and crease.

  5. Step 5

Bring the upper right corner over to the left. Fold and crease where it meets the edge of the hard crease underneath it on the right. Bring that same corner back to the right until it aligns with the crease on the right. Fold.

  6. Step 6

Hold your folded paper with the point facing up. Grab scissors in your right hand. Starting at the lower right corner of the paper, which lies on top, cut at an angle to the left so that your end point will be 2 inches below the pointed top. When you're finished, unfold your paper to reveal your perfect 5-point star.
