How to Crochet a Three Treble Cluster
A three treble cluster will give your crochet projects a lacy, open look, such as you'll find in a shawl or afghan. The clusters trap air and, when warmed by your body heat, keep you toasty in cold climes. Use these steps to create a three treble cluster.
Instructions

1
Begin with a loop on your hook. Wrap your yarn around the hook (called yarning over) twice.
-
2
Insert your hook in the stitch of the previous row, yarn over and pull the yarn through the stitch.
-
-
3
Yarn over and pull the yarn through 2 loops. Do this again. This leaves you with 2 loops on the hood, the loop from the stitch before and the last loop of the first treble.
-
4
Repeat Steps 2 and 3. You now have 3 loops on the hook.
-
5
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 once more. You now have 4 loops on the hook.
-
6
Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops. Your 3 treble cluster is complete. From here, make a chain stitch for each stitch you'll be skipping before your next 3 treble cluster.

Tips & Warnings
You will have more rows in your lap as your project progresses. With the increased weight, your stitches may get too tight. This can ruin your project. Check the gauge periodically.
