Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clippers
  • Buffer
  • File
  • Hand or foot conditioner
  1. Step 1

Prepare a basin by filling it with warm soapy water. Cleanse your nails and hands or feet by removing all grit and dirt. Allow to dry completely.

  2. Step 2

    Clip nails straight across.

  3. Step 3

File nails into desired shape. For curved nails turn the file on the corners.

  4. Step 4

Using the coarse side of the buffer will eliminate the ridges of your nails. Swipe across the nails briskly. Limit buffing to one time each month.

  5. Step 5

Bring a nice shine to your nails by using the smooth side of the buffer.

  6. Step 6

Polish the nails with the polish surface of the buffer using swift horizontal strokes. Maintain the shine by repeating this step weekly.

  7. Step 7

Apply hand or foot conditioner liberally to your hands or feet and nails once you have wiped the dust from them.

Tips & Warnings
  • A few strokes is all that is needed to achieve polished nails by buffing. Too many strokes will cause the nails to become thin and flake.
  • Do not attempt to buff your nails immediately after showering to prevent damaging your nails.
