With the heavy demands on your daily life, do you wonder how to find time to fit anyone in your social calendar? What about your family, can you find time to fit them in your calendar? Here's how you can plan a family social calendar and not miss out on the important people in life.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Obtain a blank 12 month calendar.

  2. Step 2

Gather schedules of each family member's activities for work, school, church or sports.

  3. Step 3

Mark all the important dates for games, recitals or meetings on your 12 month calendar. And don't forget to take note of school breaks, holidays, vacation time and company shut down periods.

  4. Step 4

Look at your own calendar and mark down the dates that you will be occupied.

  5. Step 5

Make a list of all the activities that you and your family would like to do together. This would be the foundation list for your family socials and may include movie nights, short trips, special vacation spots, reunions, potluck dinners and holidays.

  6. Step 6

Narrow down to the activities that are more important or appealing to your family members and have everyone vote on when to have a specific social event.

  7. Step 7

Mark down the short listed activities on the open days on your family social calendar.

  8. Step 8

Make a copy of the final copy of your completed calendar and post it where everyone in the family can see it. Make copies to take to work.

  9. Step 9

Discipline yourself to stick to the dates you have set aside for family social activities, unless it is an absolute emergency.

  10. Step 10

Use your calendar and enjoy a whole year of family activities.

Tips & Warnings
  • If something comes up which conflicts with the dates that are posted on the calendar, be firm and do not make changes unless everyone agrees.
