Omarion has become a staple in clubs and at parties because of his catchy songs and smooth style. His dance style is reminiscent of artists like Michael Jackson and Usher, but he has developed a style all his own that can be learned and duplicated. Follow these necessary steps to dance like Omarion and impress all of your friends.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Review Omarion's prominent dance videos, and note the difference in styles. Watch videos like "Ice Box" and "Touch" for great examples of Omarion's style.

  2. Step 2

Refer to old videos of 80s break-dancers for some tricks and stylistic tips. Emulate some of the more simple moves like spinning and rapidly going to the ground then returning to standing position rapidly as Omarion uses these moves frequently in his routines.

  3. Step 3

Choose one Omarion song to try to learn the dance or at least a dance sequence from the song's video. Sign up for a hip-hop dance class. Ask the instructor if she has ever made up a dance in the style of Omarion, and if so if she would assist you in learning his style.

  4. Step 4

Study Michael Jackson videos as Omarion's style is a subset of his style. Pay special attention to the footwork, noting the frequent sliding of the feet to move from one end of the stage to the other and his use of turns.

  5. Step 5

Practice your new Omarion dance skills at home before debuting them at your favorite club or party. Ask the DJ to play one of Omarion's songs for which you memorized the moves. Try out your newfound dance abilities with trusted friends who won't make you feel embarrassed if you mess up.

Tips & Warnings
  • Omarion's style is a bit more sensual than some other modern dancers such as Chris Brown or Justin Timberlake.
  • Ask around to find out the best hip hop dance class. Choose a class that is right for you and an instructor who is well versed in modern moves.
