Boy band starts can often lead to "has been" land. This is not the case with Omarion. Early on, he took the lead to become one of the hot young guns of R&B. After a brief stint with B2K, Omarion has built a solo career with legions of young fans clamoring to get to wherever he is. Many of them want a date, but some want some good advice on how to sing like this talented artist.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be familiar with the urban style of music. Omarion's singing style often combines rap with traditional singing. Young urban artists are equally rooted in Hip Hop and R&B.

  2. Step 2

Work on the visual. If the singing is not always on point, it helps to be eye candy. You can also turn flips and dance to wow the crowd until the next chorus.

  3. Step 3

Sweat a lot. People like hard workers. Show willingness to go the extra mile and the crowd will feel the energy.

  4. Step 4

Smile for the fans. When the artist is having a good time, the audience will have a good time. Make the crowd feel important.

  5. Step 5

Learn from the old school crooners. Teddy Pendergrass and Marvin Gaye should be templates for performing live. Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind and Fire are also influences that make this style unique.

  6. Step 6

Tell real stories in the music. Talk about what goes on in real relationships. Make the good, the bad and the ugly sound melodic. Allow listeners to reminisce about past loves.

  7. Step 7

Concentrate on female fans. Women tend to be a more committed audience. Women will be more likely to appreciate the hard work that goes into being a sexy single R&B crooner.
