Step 1
Focus on using good communication skills with your partner. Interracial couples often must deal with challenging situations. Arguments and blaming within the relationship will only make matters worse. Ask your partner to respect your feelings and take your concerns seriously. You must do the same for your partner.
-
Step 2
Be honest about your feelings. If you're not truthful, nothing will be resolved by your conversation.
-
Step 3
Reassure your partner that, despite your concerns, you respect his or her background and culture.
-
Step 4
Discuss any worries related to family and friends. You may be worried that your family or your partner's family will disapprove of your relationship or even go as far as rejecting you both. Or, certain friends may not approve of the relationship and may choose not to spend time with you anymore. You and your partner must agree to support one another and form a united front when dealing with such situations.
-
Step 5
Ask your partner for help in coming up with solutions to alleviate your concerns.
-
Step 6
Be patient. All relationships require some work. By talking through your issues, you'll both develop your trust in one another and learn to deal with difficulties from both within and outside the relationship.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr believed that if we come together, nomatter what the color difference may be, there will be healing, maybe not right away, but for sure.and I am also a christian and believe that true love does come in all shapes, sizes, but most importantly colors. That is what makes it even more interesting. I am waiting for that special someone to se...
