As researchers look more closely at senior sexuality, they're finding that seniors are having more sex longer into their lives than most people assume. In fact, interviews with seniors reveal that seniors value sexuality as an important part of their lives. Because of this, there's an ever increasing range of sexual products designed for seniors. Follow these steps to use some of these products.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check out books and instructional materials. Books, videos and other instructional products designed for seniors contain valuable information on sexuality that can be used by anyone. Most of these materials place heavy emphasis on maintaining intimacy and on understanding the physiology of sex, two things that anyone can benefit from.

  2. Step 2

Use lubricants designed for seniors. There are a number of high quality sexual lubricants designed specially for seniors. Lubricants like JoyLube are mild and do not affect the skin or the body's hormones. Speak with a doctor or sex therapist about lubricants designed for seniors to use a higher quality lubrication.

  3. Step 3

Use a "Liberator" or other sexual positioning cushions. Sexual position cushions such as the Liberators assist seniors in getting into comfortable sexual positions. While the Liberator's primary market is seniors, many younger couples find that the Liberator has a positive effect on their sex lives as well. So, look for a Liberator or similar product to use sex items designed for seniors.

  4. Step 4

Check out the Sue Johanson line of sex toys. Sue Johanson is herself a grandmother and so designs her line of sex toys with the needs of seniors in mind. However, Johanson's high quality and well thought-out designs make her line of sex toys great for anyone looking to expand their sexual horizons a bit. Check out Johanson's website or watch her show on sex on the "Oxygen" channel to find out more about her designed-for-seniors sex toys.
